it's well worth noting that different people have different expectations & acceptance levels for "good fit"

that's not a jibe at anyone, but just because someone writes it on an interweb, doesn't mean it's true

I did have to cut and weld mine, but I do agree with myki that this is quite a common thread...

I for one for mentioned quite a few times that you're fitting a DP off a golf to your ibiza (cordoba). So its logic that it might not be an exact fit. If you have no access to welding I'd probably say don't do it, as chances are it will need some for of modification.

yes myki that is the exact one i bought  im going to get it modified as it bangs so badly under the centre section it is rubbing on the bulk head but is worse underneath would welding the extra section in get rid of this or am i better cutting out the 3 flange part and welding an extra piece in there also? thanks

If the downpipe itself is cut, bent downwards then welded back up it will pull the bottom section down which in turn will bring it away from the body. Mine knocked on the centre a tiny bit but only on idle so wasnt a problem, but mine never touched the bulkhead in the slightest.

The bit that rubs on the centre is where the bottom section is flaring down to the 2.5". Ive ringed the section that rubs so you can see what im on about. Bare in mind the pic is from after i had my sports cat put onto it

myki was that any regular 2.5" sports cat you fitted between? as I've been thinking about this as they aren't expensive at all and save me the hassle of switching back the oem one when MOT lurks around the corner.
