yep, i leave the car running for abit to let it cool down and nothing on the cardboard.

car doesnt feel sluggish other than a bit of hesitation at approx 2500-3000rpm but others on here are suffering that too.

what would you guys say is the worst case scenario?

Rev the car stationary with a bit of paper towel held over the exhaust - if there's spots on it it'll be oil. Smell it afterwards. If it smells of fuel (fuel) if it smells of oil (oil) obvious eh :D

If the car is smoking when you have you foot down this suggests turbo seals. You can try running a slightly thicker oil say 10w40 to see if the smoking stops, this can also give you an indication how worn the seals are.

If the car is smoking on overrun (ie after you've had the foot down and coasting in gear) that would suggest valve stem seals are gone.

If it's smoking black while booting it mate your burning it off get a White cloth hold at thevtail pipe and really give it some beens see if spurts anything out if your burning it then it's got to be getting into then cylinders or exhaust system somehow ;)

Sam, i dont need to hold a cloth to see what comes out. my garage unit is covered in black soot like stuff.

That's what I was getting at with the cloth ;)

Mate I feel your pain. Ive just been repairing my PCV system as it was totally shot and the pipe into the crankcase popped off too!! Oil catch can goes in next wk hopefully so didnt want to replace with all new.

So my issues are pretty much the same as yours! It started after the broken pcv pipe issue, and when I fitted the FMIC the smic was full of oil - im a Stage 2. So im keeping fingers crossed that its residue oil in the system somewhere as its bluey / black kinda smoke I only see once in a blue moon whaft out the back. But sometimes after ive been down a long gentle hill - stop at the bottom for the roundabout and see the smoke. After driving off it isnt there anymore..........

What kinda job is it to do the valve stem seals as GlanzaV pointed out??

Thanks, sorry for jumping on board this thread - hope you get yours sorted mate. Im gona try and whip off the tip this avo and check for spindle play.
