Drive system error

After 4 months of happiness, it turns out there is a manufacturing issue with the 272 hybrids.
Got in the car from a quick visit to the shops and was greeted with a nice drive system error - please visit workshop!

Engine wouldn't run and would only drive on EV (thankfully had nearly a full charge) and crawled home. Contacted Cupra care (who it has to be said were brilliant) and a technician was at my house in about 3hrs. He managed to 'clear' the issue after about 30 minutes but then went on to explain it's a software issue with all the models and a fix should hopefully be available end of September 🫣.

Strangely, the problem exists with the EV drive, but it's the petrol engine that shuts down so my advice is make sure you always have some charge and the Cupra care number close to hand until the fix is available.

Thank you for sharing this. I have a Terramar hybrid and the same happened to me last week. As you said is a known issue by now apparently and a lot of reports say that if you switch off the car and go away at least minimum 20 m from the car so there’s no communication with the key 20-30 minutes later you turn on the car in the hour goes away. In my case I left the car overnight and in the morning the error have cleared itself.

Had 2 error messages 2.0tsi when started car saw a message come on then went off so set of
then saw yellow triangle and some thing else in yellow could not make it out
Was about to go onto A1M but pulled in to laybye phoned Cupra breakdown ( the AA )
On screen car status came up error transmision & ACC after ashort time turned ignition on and yes they had gone
AA guy phoened was only 10 mins away
He plugged his laptop in but not showing anything so tried another what used bluetooth still not showing any errors
Advised if happens again take to main dealers whos fault finding eqipment is linked to VW that was on Tuesday
been ok car done 3100 miles
PS was impressd how quik AA responded was only waiting about 20mins
