After 4 months of happiness, it turns out there is a manufacturing issue with the 272 hybrids.
Got in the car from a quick visit to the shops and was greeted with a nice drive system error - please visit workshop!
Engine wouldn't run and would only drive on EV (thankfully had nearly a full charge) and crawled home. Contacted Cupra care (who it has to be said were brilliant) and a technician was at my house in about 3hrs. He managed to 'clear' the issue after about 30 minutes but then went on to explain it's a software issue with all the models and a fix should hopefully be available end of September 🫣.
Strangely, the problem exists with the EV drive, but it's the petrol engine that shuts down so my advice is make sure you always have some charge and the Cupra care number close to hand until the fix is available.
