driveshaft problem?

hi guys

got a problem i think with my driveshaft on the passenger (near) side.

When you turn the wheel hub it gets a weird clonking noise, and the gaiter is pierced and leaking some sort of grease..

my questions are.. where is the fastest and cheapest way to get a driveshaft? (any locations/links?) I live in Watford, WD25.

Also, how hard is it to replace?

This has all happened, some how?!?!?!, changing my suspension to some coilovers. I bought a set of FK AK on ebay which were listed as for Seat Leon mk2.. but on the invoice said golf? I spoke to the supplier and they said its the same type but I am having some serious problems fitting the front struts, they just dont seem to line up properly.. they're only out by a couple of mm though??

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Also, mine is an automatic 2.0 tdi. Are the driveshafts different between manual and auto?

You probably need a CV joint rather than a driveshaft if the boot has split.

There are two strut sizes: 50 and 55mm, sounds like you have the wrong kit. I'm not sure which models have which size though.

Thanks for the quick response.

mine are a 55mm kit I believe SMVW9007 is the part number.. However on the fk-shop.de website says it should be SMVW9008 for the SEAT Leon..

The bit that we believe is gone is the bit on the nearside that has a black rubber cover over it and spins with the hub. Is that the CV joint?

And whats the best way to check its actually gone? Any chance I can put it back together (if its popped out of position or something?)

is this the right part? on ebay item number 130898815800

and as far as I'm aware procedure is roughly;
1. wheel off, unbolt big nut on front of hub, remove arch cowling
2. couple of light taps with a hammer to release spines
3. undo a few torque bit bolts around the inside of the shaft
4. tug on the shaft to remove. if it doesnt release straight away, twist slightly then tug again?

then backwards process for re-inserting?

Anything else to be aware of/look out for?

Hi
I havent actually tried turning the car on so don't know what noise i'd get driving along..

The noise i'm getting is when I have the wheel off and just turn the hub it just doesnt feel right (stiff in places..) and then makes a similar noise to that video
