You cant not notice a loud constant drumming noise coming from the front passenger wheel especially at 60mph or above. The faster you drive the louder it gets. Is it the wheel bearings?

i have had something similar for several months although I would describe it as more of a droning noise. it happens to me within a certain rev range, once the revs go higher the noise either dissappears or is drowned out by the engine (im not really sure which).

at the service in june the mechanic said he thought it might be the diff.

Not sure if this will help...

I would check the wear pattern on the tyre, i've found that sometimes they wear like a 50p shape and it can give you the droaning noise. Mine normally happens at the rear though...

eagle F1's?
run your hand on the edge of the tyre and feel for a "wavey" feel to things.

also, could be wheel bearing which may have some movement if you push/pull on the tyre

tyre swap from front to rear may move the noise if its the tyre

I have got a similar problem. Previous owner had been driving with the tracking out which had warped the tyres on the back. I would get them checked before you start thinking suspension or wheel bearing. But i have also had both front wheel bearings changed and the noise still persists because of the tyres.

I Would Suggest You Get Your Wheel Bearings Checked Out,if You Have Already Done W/bones Tyres Shockers Tracking, like I Did Then Found Out Passenger Side Bearing Had Been My Problem All Along........the Only Other Problem Could Be 4 Wheel Missalignment And Crabbing Of Rear Wheels, this Can Be Confused In Thinking Front At Fault But This Problem Is Only Really For Cars That Have Been In Accidents Or Severe Kerbing

think it might be the tyre make as ive got vredstien sessantas on which give shitloads of grip but now ive swoped them around it doesnt seem to do it but its not all the time and its been into the garage and theres nothing with suspention or out everything seems fine got a rep from vredstien coming to have a look.

they are directional and wonder if they dont soot the car has anyone else had this problem with tyres not sooting?

i thought you get a noise if the bearing are going as im not get any noise i havent checked that but when the car was up in the air the other day i gave the wheels a push and a tug and there was very little movment where if it is the bearings they would move more wouldnt they ? is there any other checks for bearings ? it has got its MOT next week so somthing may come up on that

You should'nt be able to move the wheel with the wheel bearings in good nick. The 12 oclock shake from the top and then with the wheels on the floor, hands at 9 and 3 and then push and pull if you get a bit a movement its worth getting them changed.

I did and it was a dodgy suspension damper, rear nearside, with mine the noise was apparent at 75-85mph then dissappeared.

Although my car wasn't on F1's at the time if I recall...... maybe Bill knows something different...........I know the construction of some non Eu made F1's has been called into question.....

Wheel bearings are obvious the noise will get louder under load / cornering.....with mine this didn't happen
