The DSG boxes were noted as being on the limit of their capabilities when leaving the factory in the cupra's and boc's, so i can see the DSG as being a rather big stepping stone if anybody wants to tune there TSI.


Do you think VAG would release an item that was on the very brink of performance and a nm more would kill it? Everything manufacturing wise has a great deal of leeway(for want of a better word) built in to them. A Car tyre rated @ 50mph max im sure would survive for a few hundred miles @ 100mph. While it may cause it to go pop the speed limit is there as a saftey measure for the manufactuer and the customer.

Theres quite a few people on here running revo/maps ect that are putting more torque than the quoted maximum into there DSG's without signs of failing.

As for the missfire, what light did you see, was it an engine block in the lower half of the rev counter? Thats the "emmisons" light that signifies missfires.
