Thats why Im going solid conversion, I have to use first gear at the moment as my DMF is well on its way out and 2nd gear is too weak to pull away in without stalling or the clutch slipping.

Its making it a pain in the arse to drive.

Quick question....

I am about to buy a 1.9TDI Leon on a 57 plate....will this DMF be an issue for me? Or did they fix the issue?

Been searching for a conversion kit for the Mk2 Leon, but been unsuccessful....hoping i will never need it, but it would be good to know they exist and it can be swapped if needed.

Thanks

Strange, I searched for that on the Valeo website and found only the kit for the mk1

Could you send a link to the mk2 version of the kit? Assuming it needs a different kit.

Thanks

The Leon on a 57 plate will be a PD engine, same as the Octavia. My 1.9PD Octavia was converted last December, and I've never looked back since. It's quieter, smoother and more responsive with the SMF than it ever has been with a DMF setup. It's the Valeo 4 part kit that's in mine.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the conversion, and neither would numerous other folk on Briskoda.

I think mines on the way out,im after a lighter flywheel for my 1.9 TDi ARL engine, cause I had the car remapped I put on a Sachs clutch kit (it's lasted over 5 years)
Has anyone fitted a lighter flywheel?

Hello there everyone, well here is a situation, my car is a SEAT FR 2008 2.0TFSI that has right now 105000KM.

I purchased the car from a AUDI mechanic about 8 months ago.
Recently I started hearing a knocking sound from my car in the transmission area when the car is stationary in neutral.
When I press the clutch in the knocking sound stops, when i let the clutch go it continues.
I always heard it before from time to time but now its became annoying now that I have BSH Engine Mounts.
Which means the knocking sounds louder in the cabin.
When I turn off the engine after driving very hard or aggressive. the car shuts of horrible it gitters and shuts off.
But if i shut it off with the cluch in it shots of a lot more better.

Now the Mechanic told me that maybe its The clutch that has worn out. (I was new to driving standard so i might have screwed the cluch my self).
but he did say that the clutch, flywheel and presure plate was new, and that it was originally for a TDI car FR but he put it in my car which is a petrol car, my question is could it be that i am hearing this sound because its not the right clutch kit ? I really dont want a SMF because I heard the clutch will be harder to press and I am surly going to hear noise and rattles.
At this point i am so fed up I am thinking on switching back to brand new OEM engine mounts not to hear any noise.
I am thinking to purchase a new LUK DMF from ECS Tuning website, but this seems like its going to be a pricey job, being that the mechanic said that If i change it i rather change everything.
please let me know what you guys think.

Thanks in advance.

Another revival

Has anyone done this on a 2.0tdi 140bhp?
Mine has gone and garage quoting £1500 for new dmf and clutch!!
I'm looking for conversion kits but all I'm finding is for 1.9 or 2.0 170bhp.
I need this doing ASAP but don't want to get my pants pulled down over the price. Does £1500 seem reasonable? I asked them about solid conversion, after speaking to their mate in VW Audi they recommend not to because of vibration and other "issues".
Anyone know of a garage in Essex that could do this job?
Also, would it be too dangerous to drive to another garage, it's very noisy obviously but would it do any more damage to drive a couple of miles, would it make it?

I talked to an audi specialist and a gearbox rebuilder about SMF for a 1.8t and they both said they wouldn't as it can wreck the gearbox within six months. BBS hooked me up with a Sachs clutch, pressure plate and flywheel for about £340ish.
