dump valve or recirculating valve?

Ricirc. Atmospheric DVs put leon's into limp mode as it expects the charged air to dump through the MAF, if it doesn't detect it, it suspects a leak and activates limp mode.
Only way to use a BOV is to have MAF mapped out, but it isnt popular here. Send me a pm if you need more info
I had a baileys atmospheric valve on mine when I bought it and had it on for 12 months after I bought it. I have changed it back to recirc now due to what people have said on here but I never had any problems at all!
my forge 007 isn't connected to the return pipe. that's been blocked off and it sounds ace. no limp mode or running problems
I agree (I have a Forge 006 though), i've added a silicone reducer for added (25 to 45mm) + modified sound (sounds like a proper whistle now).

Well with respect to my car I bought it with the bov already fitted by the previous owner and he owned the car for 6 years! He told me it had never been mapped or messed with in any way! The car was standard apart from bov, cone filter, and a decat! I noticed no difference with the with performance when I changed the bov to recirc, alot less dump noise, which I miss to be honest! The car is now completely standard again!
Yeah, a few members did say a bov can mess with fuel trims which can lead to bore wash among other things, I did get mine logged before I changed back to recirc have the print out somewhere, but all was reading fine across the range or so I was told.lol
Bore wash on gear changes is what I've read.
I went through several aftermarket valves, all recirc, and have to say the stock bosch valve was the easiest to live with, the smoothest in operation and the most reliable.
Id say if you want more noise add more power
But then I'm an old bugger

Hi mate interested in doing this my self any problems yet? how did you blank off the pipe and which one needs blanking?
the one that goes to the inlet above the rocker. its got a machined plug in it. the dv has nothing connected to it. hopefully it makes sense
