Just ordered 2 of these for me FR TDi 225/45/17's
as them Bridgestones aint lasting aslong as i had hoped.
couple of friends use these on similar cars & one on a A4 TDI 130 Avant & getting 20K miles easily out the fronts & canna fault them.

Otherwise it was ganna be the Michelin Primacys as my own past experience with them was excellent.

Any prefs with tyres for the best mileage etc etc ????

I had Dumlop Sport SP2000s on my old Mondy - I have to say they were very cheap and lasted a blimmin long time too.... about 20-25k miles on the front

We've got them on the lcr. Just got the back ones put on the front and new ones on the back last month and the grip is soo much better than the standard crap pirelli's [B)]

love the dunlop sport 9000's, i havent brought a different manuf of tyre since getting my first pair!

They are soft and don;t last as long as the pirelli's (which are pants!), but you suffice grip for longer wear periods.

They have been tested with many different companies and came out better than the goodyear gsd3's that many people highly rate on here (they are also very good btw ;) )

Avon's are good until it rains, which is where the sport 9000 came out 5% less grip in the wet than the dry, others including the goodyear were over 10%

I've had pirelli P6000s. Goodyear F1 GSD3s and Dunlop SP9000s on my cupra and to be honest I'll be buying the SP9000s next time. As good as the goodyears in the dry and wet, but a bit safer when it's icy.

I suspect tyres are as much to do with what you feel comfortable with, as they are the only that connects your car to the road. Also, Maybe my views are biased by the fact that the goodyears gave me zero grip on an icy corner at 25 mph a couple of years ago and resulted in bent suspension, an activated side air bag and my only insurance claim in 19 years of driving.

Just had SP Sport Maxx 's fitted on the front, so I'll be interested to see how they compare with the Conti's that have just worn out. Got 19,500 out of those - obviously not trying hard enough!

I'll be getting the dunlops early next year. Plus they are cheaper the the GY Eagle F1s. Apparenly better wear rating too :)
