I have been on Search Patrol and not really found what I was after.

I just wanted to know of owners opinions on these, pros & cons etc.

I hear that moving the DV to the 'cold side' helps the longevity of the DV but what else does it do? Does it change the sound in the DV? Is there any difference in performance (positive or negative)...any info at all is much appreciated.

I also wondered about the N/S intercooler top hose, it's a new part with this kit with an extra connection. I plan to add an FMIC at some point and would like to know if this hose is compatible? As far as I know, a FMIC kit only replaces the lower IC pipes right, so the top hoses should still be ok?

On me LC i got all the hoses of Forge, and regarding the relocation kit didnt Pabs have one when he had his Leon and i think he took it off.Dont quote me on it though i maybe wrong.

2 ways of looking at this.

This is what I read

"I've not seen any conclusive results that prove that one position is better than another, but many people have different ideas about this. Some say that it's best to have it close to the throttle, since that's where the back-pressure builds from when the butterfly is closed and it will respond quicker. Others say that it's better to put it as close to turbo as possible so that the valve is venting hot air rather than post-intercooler cold air, so that the inlet pipes after the intercooler are still filled with cool air."

As mentioned, after fitting the DV relocation kit a lot of people comment about quicker and sharper throttle response, it also gives off a louder noise from outside at the car as it's nearer the grille.

Nearer the throttle body is better as it monitors boost levels at the throttle inlet, not at the turbo - far more accurate as you can loose a few Psi through the system otherwise, Not heard the venting hot air theory before, but I wouldn't buy it - maybe on a BOV, but on these it only recirculates anyway so you'll just end up with the warm air through the turbo, so it will make no difference to inlet temps.

ive got it on me lcr jamjay it does feel better and more response and lthe dv sounds the louder but i wouldent pay 100 quid for it when you could make your own for 20 quid i bought mine cheap of ear

I wouldn't like to make my own, the intercooler pipe would be tricky and I don't like cutting things up. That would mean i'd need to stab a hole in the IC pipe and poke a snorkel into it and glue . Thanks for the feedback though, it's looking like a positive thing to do so far :).

Is an ok mod, its nothing special mate, all i noticed was abit more noise, i only really did it for the looks as i got the DV and upper boost hoses as a set.

i have one and tbo its a waste of money, looks nice tho. also if you are running a forge 007p dv it makes it very quiet. no chirp from running it in reverse. any way i took mine off, car seems to run better now

I have the relocation too, as said, it's nothing fancy, but I like the idea of a nice cold DV which makes me sure it wont stick or anything like it.

I've had one on for a while now, it does sound a small bit louder and doesn't get as hot, it still needs to be serviced at regular intervals IMO, i only put it on becasue it made my bay look nicer, shallow i know.
