Hi All,

Someone managed to smash one of my wing mirror LED's yesterday, and I'm looking at getting some dynamic indicator replacements from Progressive Parts.

Whether you've installed some from a company (Progressive Parts, Diversion, Osram, etc) or from Amazon, eBay, Aliexpress, etc, can you share how long you've had them on and if you've had any issues?

I really like the look of them, but I'm nervous about fitting non-OE electrics. Not so much in case it throws a fault code, but more so if it might somehow burn out wiring (they are brighter than OE, so I assume draw more), or similar issues. I'm just a bit concerned that I'll change lane on a dark M25 in a years time, and suddenly a fuse or something will fry!

Any input is hugely appreciated, thank you!

Got mine from aliexpress 3 years ago. Took maybe 10 mins max to install. Worked perfectly, still work perfectly, have passed multiple MOT tests, never given an error. Have been outside permanently in -8c to +34c heat, torrential rain etc. Never missed a beat, look great and are a fast and simple mod that makes the car feel more modern than it is.

With regards to them being brighter - yes they are, but also remember being sequential the entire strip isn’t illuminated/on at once - so I’d imagine power draw is actually less than OEM which lights all the leds simultaneously

Osram LEDriving DMI, dark tinted ones.
One year passed, no issues.
Here is my post about it : https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/what-did-you-and-your-mk3-leon-do-today.379107/post-5025294

I am tempted by the Osram ones, but I'm not sure I can justify the thick end of £100, especially when it's only £40 to get a single OE unit. Oh, how I dream of a Cupra ST or S3 after uni...!

Which OE unit is £40?

Dynamic ones on original SEAT accessories are £250-300 a pair.

Sorry, I was on about the standard unit from SDP/Cox - think it's £39 a side. The Osram ones are on LEDPerf for £88... I wonder if they really are any better than an Aliexpress job or the ones I'm looking at from Progressive Parts, or if they're just charging more for the box.

In the past, I have used many Osram parts for different cars I owned and they were always superior than a no-name part, regarding material quality and lifetime.

I absolutely guarantee you all the ones from progressive etc are the exact same ones as the aliexpress ones, just with a handy markup

Genuine Seat and Osram will make their own. Everyone else is identical Chinese copies. For what it’s worth (and could of course be faked) mine came E-Marked, and are impeccable quality. Other than the shipping packaging you couldn’t tell they’re not OEM, either in hand or when installed

I fitted mine June 2019, no problems, from AliExpress.

+1 for ali. 8 quid or so, delivered. Unnecessary trim tool and allen key included! six months and counting. How much do you hate money?
