Took my car for a Dyno run today. It's definitely not got the power the last Dyno from AMD did! Thought it wasn't as powerful as the last cupra I had! Must be on a stage one map!

Definitely stage 1, the Apr stage 1 is 257-263 depending on fuel

Couple a horses probably jumped the fence over the years

Lots of torque for stage 1
Have a custom map and use Shell V Power fuel.
But once mapped you need to stick to V power to have same gains.
5thGear did a test on standard golf gti V power gave it about 5 or 6 bhp if I remember correctly.
If you have an induction kit make sure there’s a heat shield. Otherwise they reduce power from heat soak.
You probably know all this anyway but it might help others.

Nah I actually don't.. But the clutch is slipping anyway! He even said I got slight slip from 5th so they can now price me up with a clutch to take the power! But they did say the standard clutch should be able to take it. But I'm wanting more torque now..

I have a brand new Sachs 4 paddle plate that runs with oem parts. Still in box. Paid 300 I think. Will sell for 50 less than I paid if you’re interested? Let me know. It’s from Badger5
Have a look on their website.
It is the version Bill at Badger5 recommends as an upgrade.

More torque will see bent con rods as they are not forged. It’s the weak point on these engines.
You don’t want more that 300 lbs or you run the risk of it all going tits up.
Cost to replace rods with forged. 1500+. Gives you peace of mind and you can wind. It up as much as you want.

The one offered above mate, it's a good price and what I would point you too.

Been doing some reading on ceramic or organic clutches! Either sound ok but for long time use people some say organic is the way to go? I'm stuck and need the best advice so I can make sure I'm at peace with my decision n not worry it burning out of me quickly.

Is that the same case with TDi engines? Bit concerned hearing that as mines at 299 after the recent map.

No I believe diesels are built differently. They are built tougher as they need to deal will big heat internally. Most diesels can produce big torque figures.
You shouldn’t have a problem. Someone will promo you on here if I’m wrong. Pretty sure what I say is correct.

The plate I’m selling will be perfect. Recommended to me by Bill at B5 (Badger5) trust him. Not me. He knows these engines like no others do.
He maps my car and said it was a good upgraade. He doesn’t try to flog you anything.
There was confusion with my mechanic and as I’d asked him to pick up the rest of the parts , he ended up buying a complete clutch kit and fitted all parts, forgetting I was supplying the Sachs plate.
Didn’t want to pay to do it twice so now have a spare.
You won’t go wrong with it.

Can I use with just the clutch? Or will I need other parts? As am I right in thinking it doesn't come as a kit/set and, like press sping, clutch plate and cover? Also will my current flywheel be ok to use?

This goes on and everything else is standard. It fits oem stuff.

Sounds good to me.. Sorry for all the questions.. You must think I'm a right div but because of the sliping will the backing plate be ok still for the new clutch

Should be ok. Mechanic can see if has wear.
Don’t apologise. I know limited stuff too.
Been on here with another Cupra for 10 years now. Plenty of info and help available.

Yeah this advice is really helpful.. If this clutch can take over 400fpt which I know il never get out of the leon then ideal as I wanna map again.. They said 280 for a map but they do a full health inspection before mapping and check all pipe work seals so I think it all seems worth it really.. And il have your clutch off you end of this month if your ok with that! Are you local to leicester? Could collect it? Pay cash? PayPal will cost
