I would say no ... only because I have sold a heap of junk on e-bay and got VERY good money for it.

Although I think the same rules apply as if it were a "normal" auction. Go and have a look at it ... THEN bid... Safest way.
 
I think most sellers just use it as cheap advertising, they would expect any prospective owner to contact them and come and see
 
thats what i did, where it says ask buyer a question, i asked him for his phone no. and email address. asked how much he was after and flew down to see it then drove 450 odd miles back up to scotland, well chuffed. ps has anyone went further than me for a car or am i alone in my madness ?
 
I sold my 206 Gti on ebay and got just over 2k than what i wanted for it so very happy!!
But im with slimjim i would have to go and look at the car before bidding!!
 
i bought my mini from ebay and the bloke delivered it to me before i paid anything :) was in good condition
