I have gone though this thread - and added a couple more from a Skoda forum where users have confirmed usage and mileage for their EA288, and I converted them to L/1000miles so we are all using the same units.
My own usage is an average of 0.26 over 40,000 miles and 4 years - and varies from 0.16 - 0.35 seems to depend on usage.
We can keep this list updated with any new data.

Discounting the high usage of >0.8 that is an average usage of around 0.25L/1000miles. Shall we call this 'normal' :)

The VAG max allowance is laughable!
Personally I think I would be concerned at anything above 0.40 - 0.50L/1000miles oil consumption.
As I mentioned previously - this does not include any oil dilution! which no one will know unless the are doing regular used oil analysis, but hopefully would be minimal if you avoid frequent cold starts/short journeys.

No noticeable oil use<0.10If you did 10,000 per year and the low oil light didn't come on:

Now i like this table idea nice one. Maybe we can include the oil brand ?

My mileage has just hit 69000 and in a 1000 miles ill be doing a oil change i have used Mobile 1 5/30 ESP but this time ill be using Quantum 5/30 and genuine filter.

I see a lot of us seem to half the oil service schedule at 5000. I don't trust engine flushes in any diesel so that is why i half it.

Happy Saturday! It's now been 300 miles since I replaced my PCV diaphragm and... my oil level's dropped by about 1/8th of the length of the crosshatched region (2 of the squares in the crosshatch). So that's 1 litre of oil per 2,400 miles pro-rata. It's currently running mostly Shell 0W-30 fully synth oil with a slight topup of Comma cheapy chips 50700 5W-30 oil. I'm going to give it an engine flush to keep my new rings clean and will replace the oil with Liqui Moly 5W30 semi synth. Doubt it'll make a jot of a difference, but it's only money after all...

Can I just say though - oil consumption excepted it's an AWESOME jam jar. It's now on 165 k and has only needed an ABS sensor in the last 20 k miles. Drives nicely, lovely smooth quiet engine, snazzy red brake callipers... the sound system can even make JLS sound good... Attracts compliments too. And up to 72 real mpg on a run.

Will report back after my oil change.

Hi everyone!
I have Leon with 2.0 CRTDI engine, CUNA engine code with 170k km and i have an oil consuption too.
I have been watching since 2022 and as i measure it is about 0,3L/1000km.
I tried engine flush additive, but did not help.
As i know it is about the bad design of oil sracper ring, easily build up with carbon and clog the oil drain holes.

Have you ever tried this carbon disolver spray? Toralin anticarbon
There are some test and how to use videos on youtube: How to

What do you think about it? Will it help to reduce the oil consuption?

Update from me:

Changing the PCV membrane has had little to no effect on oil consumption. Next step is to swap out filters for seat originals and move to VW Longline III 0W30.

Update for me today.
88k miles now, so I've done about 4,000 miles since last top up and I estimate I've burned about 500ml since then. So way, way better on the 0w30 than the 5w30. Interesting stuff.
