F1'sare the way forward, I'm on my 3rd set of them, never had any problems with them....I agree, snow isn't brilliant but as long as ur not driving like a n*b you'll be ok!

surely you want tyres to be moving the water off the road so that they get down to the tarmac and grip!

get your mate on here to have a look at all the millions of threads there have been with people recommending f1's and you'll soon prove him wrong!

Your mate sounds like the sort of person who cant drive and then blames the tyres for not being able to handle a car!

yep i agree iv had my leon for nearly 3years and the first mod it got was aset of f1s.stumbled accross them on my last car and id never look back now.hope they not replacing them i wouldny know what to replace them with when these wear out.

They have been replaced already by the better than GSD3, Good Year Assymetric's. Slightly more £ but better all round tyre, unless your a tread *****.
These are sweeping up all the best ratings in all tests but there is a new kid on the block made by Dunlop, don't know if there out yet but read about them in a magazine article and sound good but we'll see what price they come in at.
My alegence is FIRMLY with Good Year performance tyres, oh apart for Toyo for track tyres;)

yer i think the bloke from work was windin me up. he sais tha he had a set on his oudi A4 and they threw the water under his car making it very light on the road ( oviously full of sh*t).
How many miles on average do you all get out of a set of GSD3's, because i do a lot of milage on average around 400 miles a week. After all ur feedback gona order a set anyway.
cheers math

If you look after them ie check pressures every week at least and don't try and light them up every time you accelerate you should get 12,000 miles out of them

Goodyear Eagle F1's

When I bought my set of 4 Eagle F1's I was also informed that the GSD3 are to be dissontinued, replacing them with assymetrical patterns.

Since I live in the west of scotland it rains here all the time... apart from last tuesday...:D so having atyre that peforms well in the wet is a no-brainer.

I have had some sketchy moment over the years on the old golf in the wet with various tyres and I can say that the Eagle F1's give me confidence in the wet on country roads and motorways that I have never experinced before.

Although I'm not saying go out a thrash the car round the first corner and expect it to handle like it was on rails...!!

But it is a damn good tyre .. well worth the cash, will be interesting to see what the assymetrical ones will be like.

Rob..

f1s

had for over 1.5 years and they work a treat. I am no boy racer and had no problems with normal driving in the dry or wet
