Ebay bargain buys

Picked up a couple of bargains on Ebay over the weekend....

1. Brand New genuine OEM Clutch kit - £40 delivered
2. Brand new genuine exhaust back box with twin chrome tail pipes - £23 delivered

Been looking for a 'new' exhaust for a while, as I hate the twin pipes that are on it at the mo, as they're just plain steel and look carp! ;)

The clutch is a good 'investment' for the future, as £40 spent now will save me spending £££ in the future, especially if I decide to get the Altea remapped, which will mean I'll need a new clutch sooner rather than later :D

Also got the 312mm brakes dropped off the other week, so they'll be fitted at the weekend hopefully :D

I thought the same about the twin exhausts looking carp, so having been put off by Halfrauds, who wanted £10 for each chrome tailpipe, I went to my local Andrew Page motor factors, who supplied them for £2.50 each. I cut them down to fit, and it now looks much better !!

Same as, only one tail pipe, got one that fills out the gap for £12, bolt on, didnt cut any off original, could do with an inch or two cut off but will do ok.

Hi Andy, is this seat part or a mod? Can't find the listing (active or completed) now so presume you have bought the 2nd one. I could be interested. Do you have a photo. Cheers, Mark

OK found it. See that it's listed for the Leon and so it is less likely to fit my XL with its larger rear. Nice find though and those trims will be a big improvement on the standard finish.

I'll watch out for you and your shiny new parts as I'm not too far from Derby myself

and this doesn't point to an ebay ad? (see deleted thread)
Where's the consistency, mods?
I stated I had no interest in ebay ad, did not provide a direct link and was merely hoping to help someone, since alloy requests are quite frequent on this forum.

No link to an Ebay ad at all mate, purely me stating what I have procured from Ebay.

I have possibly pushed the rules with regards me offering the 2nd exhaust for sale in this thread, and I haven't got any problems with one of the other mods editing my my post accordingly. In fact I've reported the post myself, and will see what the other mods have got to say about it....

You're deleted post included a direct link to a live/current Ebay ad, which is against the rules, hence why it was deleted.

Off topic I know mate but:
There was no direct link to fleabay on my thread.
I think it should be acceptable to make other forum members aware of stuff thats available - no different to recommending a dealer of other parts provider.
If the product or service is good then other members should know.

To distinguish clearly between a link posted to pimp up an advert or a search description to something of interest considering there is no way to ensure there is no connection be it family/friend or foe to any ebay links there is sadly only one course of action to ensure all angles and possibilities are covered

Dont know if anyone else thinks like me, but i never look in the FS section on this forum as Altea drivers seem a little neglected on here sometimes (probably because there are so few of us) so i never bother looking as i dont expect anything to be in there..

CrispDust - in future, if you see anything you think may be of interest to other Altea drivers on ebay or wherever, if you wouldn't mind, please PM me... I am always on the look out :)

Cheers

Clutch kit and the Exhausts all arrived this morning at work :)

An initial look at the exhausts look promising! The tail pipes look alot larger than the std ones ;)

They're brand new ex-display items, which just need a bit of autosol to bring out the full shinyness of the chrome

I've just asked David @ Sere to check the part number of the clutch kit, just in case it won't fit the Altea
