Has anyone any experience in these bodykits that are available on flebay??

Seen a few that are on there for like £140 which has front bumper and sideskirts just want to ask what like they are?

Many thanks

They are fibreglass moulds unlike kit from the dealers which is ABS plastic.

Many people stay away from buying fibreglass as they say it cracks in an accident, well I'm pretty sure most crashes I've seen with oem bumpers have cracks etc too! However the fitment won't be as good as genuine parts.

So it all depends on your budget and personal preferences really.

Cheers for the response.

Yep have to agree that most bumpers will crack when bashed :)

Even the standard bumper we managed to crack when the car was reversed into a hidden wooden pole.

most standard bumpers will crack if pushed in hard enough of course but fibreglass is more brittle and less forgiving than abs

fire a tennis ball at both and an abs original style will bounce off whereas a fibre glass one will more ikely leave a hefty thumped hole if not through it

mind you though both can be repaired easily to a degree but given a choice i'd bin my fibreglass ones tomorrrow

heard some horror stories on cheap body kits that don't fit well, misaligned etc etc. Def one of those 'get what you pay for ' items.

meant to add that bare in mind how easy it is to get a replacement part if damaged.... branded = no probs, non branded = can be a nightmare!

What is it you're actually looking for mate

I'm guessing the LCR kit, in which case they come up occasionally in plastic but cost like £200 for the bumper alone and £100-£150 for the skirts.

Its the curpa kit that i am after, not fussed if its not the R kit.

I like the look of them but also like the cheap running of my 110tdi leon. My car is artic grey so ideally looking for a straight bolt on set of bumpers and skirts. I am assuming that i can simply spray the moulds that are black on my car at the moment.

My car currently has front fogs so does anyone know if these will fit in the cupra front bumper?

Cheers

Have been looking around and when was the change to the curpa r? Is it a year thing or is it actually a completly different model?? I can see a bumper on ebay in my colour how do i tell the difference between the Curpa and Cupra R?

Maybe i could just smooth my bumpers on my SX and colour code the rub strips on the doors and fit skirts.

Cheers

The original cupra has the same bumpers as my 2003 SX does only difference being the alloys and its lower. So will start with wheels and suspension see how it looks and continue the hunt for a set of bumpers and skirts from a later cupra like your pic of the silver 2003 one.

I should get away with removing my door trims and painting them. Might try the same on the SX bumpers make it look that wee bit different.

Cheers
