EBC Yellowstuff - Opinions?

Morning,

I am currently carrying out a brake conversion on my Audi A4.

In the past I have always used Ferodo DS2500 pads as upgrades and always been very happy with them.

Pads will be used for everyday use with a mix of fast road and a track-day or two.

Unfortunately, Ferodo don't make the DS2500 for the caliper I am using, so I am having to look for alternatives.

So far I have found a set of Tarox pads, but they are over the £200 mark - which is over what I am willing to spend.
Next option is EBC Yellowstuff pads priced at £130.

I have used EBC green & redstuff pads in the past and not been too impressed to be honest, I am hoping its going to be a case of third time lucky.

Has anyone used Yellowstuff pads before? Where you happy with them?

Thanks!

Avoid EBC Pads like the plague!!!!!!!

[:@][:@]Steer well clear, they are awful, and had a really bad experience with them on my Leon Fr. I fitted Redstuffs initially which burnt out after only 20mins on a trackday so after speaking to EBC they said Redstuffs were not a track pad which was fair enough and offered me Yellowstuffs front and rear at a reduced price for my troubles. Fitted them and they were ok at first but gradually got worse. Contacted EBC again who said that the pads like abuse and sugested some hard braking to get them performing, so after doing another trackday and nearly running out of track on almost every corner contacted EBC again. They suggested me giving them the numbers on the pads because they had a fautly batch of brake compounds. I did this and they said no these pads were fine. Eventually i gave up and took them out to inspect them to find the fronts intact but the rears with big chunks out of the face of the pads. EBC asked for them back, which i did, paying the postage myself only to be told that they had looked at them and were at a loss as to what was wrong and that maybe a sticking rear caliper was to blame for the rears breaking up. They would not replace them nor refund my money because they do not guarantee "Track pads", so i am out of pocket big time having bought the pads initially, having them fitted along with new discs all round, new front brake lines and fluid, sending them back and having to buy new pads again to replace them!! Avoid, Avoid, Avoid EBC Pads Everyone, Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

Which size brake disc are they?

I'm running 280mm and couldn't find DS2500 for this size, so I went with DS Performance, which is the new name for the old DS2000s. Not quite as good as DS2500, but better than everything else in this price range I would say. (£100 a pair for the fronts).

I bedded them in properly and they give great performance, without a problem for 6 months now.
