ECP light?

Hi, just wondering if the following was normal.

I was dropping of my wife to the post office, pulled onto the side, handbrake, turn car off, leave the radio on listening to some tunes.. Car is in the "off" position but the key is still in.

After 10 mins I get a text to go pick her up somewhere else.

So I turn on the key, I get all the flashing dashlights as usual, but then I got an EPC in the dash with the car still off. I didn't rotate the key fully to start. I take out the key, put it in again, click the car on, all lights flash as always but EPC stuck again. I turned on the key fully, car came alive and the EPC light is nowhere to be seen.

I had never seen this EPC thing staying lit up before starting the car. Am I going crazy, has it always been there stuck on before turning on the car?

Yeh, always done that, the EPC and Engine lights stay on till you start it.

Yep it's always there, comes on for a few seconds, the same as the abs etc for the self test them extinguishes if the system is working ok

Good to know I'm going crazy lol, I never noticed the EPC light stuck for a long time before turning the key to start...

I mean the car is dandy and all, it's running perfect, just that I had never noticed that...

As long as the lights go out after a few seconds after you've started the engine all is fine.
