Iv had my cambelt+water pump changed recently, and iv had an odd error.

yes iv done a search, only found out what i already know so im asking :help:

basically im getting an error (forgot the code,il get it as soon as i go home)
"Camshaft positioning sensor - incorrect correlation" is whats coming up.

the garage say they didnt fiddle about with the camshaft sensors or anything.

i spoke to fahid82 and he reckons its because my timingbelt has recently been changed so he reset the code.

however its come back up again...is it to do with the cambelt?or is my camshaft sensor on its way out?

hmm i work for a tps centre and was talking to a customer who fitted one on a tt.. he replaced the cam sensor but it brought fault up.. he checked the timing and all was fine if maybe a tiny tiny bit out.. he eventually replaced the timing belt kit and all was well..
now you are probs thinking what i thought.. (how would that change anything) ... it just does lol
my thought is the factory have had a poor batch of belts that have been mm,s out

good luck with your faults finding

Yea sounds like it a tooth out it will still run and be fine just the timing is slightly out and the camshaft sensors sees there is a prob and adjusts to suit

but needs fixing take it back for them to look at

the garage are adamant that the timing is fine, and they reckon its the sensor itself.

but i took it somewhere else who put a sensor in which didnt change anything.

so they are ready to strip the car back down but its going to be a hassle...i have to be sure that the timing is out...

he mentioned the timing jumping or something?

could it be the tensioners?could it be the sensor itself?or is it most likely the belt?

If they didnt change the hydraulic tensioner this may of failed making the belt become slack. this can show up as the timing being out. normally its the belt being a tooth out not a sensor.
