ECU swop

Looking to swop my Cupra ecu for an "R" one, A do you think its worth it and B is it something I could do myself?

I know its been done to death but couldnt find anything specific on the search

when you say swop, how much if at all are you paying for the R ECU?

yeah its a 2 min job mate, yep worth it, but not for 15bhp to be honest.

YOu want to buy a mapped ECU really

is it not 25bhp? 156 to 180? and the torque increase to? Surely for apporx £100 its worth it considering a remap is £400 plus to get 195+bhp??

its a much bigger difference between a remap and cupra R power...thats why so many Rs get remapped

its worth doing short term...100quids quite abit though

i dont think it is a massive difference. remapped cars feel quicker, but it can be misleading.

My names Morgan pal, maybe I should put that somewhere lol! Well im just thinkin its more power and cheaper than a remap, and as im strapped for cash trying to find a flat thought maybe its a good way to get some more power cheaply

i agree with you mate. i was saying cupraR's often get close to remaped cars on the road. they have high peak power but the cupraR ecu as std is no doubt a smoother map. if its £100 then go for it. i can fit it for you in 5 mins, need my laptop and a screwdriver, thats all

Think my engine is AQX?? And the ecu is AYP think this has been done to death but just to verify that its ok for me to swop between the two?

IIRC the engine code AYP means its a cupra?

EDIT: My bad AQX is for a cupra and AYP is for a Cupra R
