Who has fitted the reduced egr gasket and did it make any difference?

Did the light come on?

How easy is it to change?

Cheers!

Theres a massive thread about it on here i started it...

it costs £2, it doesnt bring the light on, However there will be an error code relating to flow rate for EGR

It might make the car run smoother, it might not ... For £2 its worth the gamble

What engine have you got?

AJB - Did a search but was on tapatalk and it came up with nothing.

I've got a stock pd170.

Only asking as the car isnt running smoothly, it pulls fine but when cruising along it feels like I'm driving inot a strong gusty head wind. Coming down from high speeds I notice it most.

Had the injectors done in Dec last year and I bought the car Jan.

Just had an interim service with a new fuel filter but still feels like it's not breathing properly.

Only thing I can think of is egr, air filter, MAF or maybe dpf? Either way, egr is the cheapest to start with!

Is it easy to get to?

Have you got a link/title to your thread?

Cheers.

I did this last year on my PD140 - Car wasn't running rough but fgured less exhaust gas and more clean air being induced has to be a good thing. Made a noticeable diff when pulling away at speed, slight but deffo noticeable and mpg improved slightly too. Not had any warnings at all and no detramental effects. Car was in for a full service last week which included a full scan and they didn't report any errors from the egr

Cheers fellas, made up my mind.

Just need to buy the t50 tool to do the job now.

David @ sere, top bloke.

Have a look in the site sponsor section on here.

Costs £2.

You can do it with an allen key too, its not a perfect fit but as long as ur bolts arent seased tight it will do the job fine without rounding off the bolts

Andrew - how do you get the symptoms of the egr problem to come to the fore? Just coming home and the car has literally been kangarooing down the road.

Got the egr gasket but I'm away all week so can't get to any tools! Arrggghhh!!!

Cheers.

Mmmm, makes me wonder if my problem really is the egr and not a dodgy injector. It's too cyclical. If the injectors fire one after the other then I'm wondering if one of them is faulty.

Might try a blast of BG44k or some millers.
