Help!
The EGR which sits just before the intake manifold on my '06 1.9 TDi Toledo (75K miles) has started leaking dirty black engine oil which is running down the back of the block and making a dirty mess of the bottom of the engine/sump and undertray.
I think the oil (which is coming from the vented crankcase fumes via the intercooler) is escaping through a small vent hole in the EGR diaphragm - although it difficult to tell until it is cleaned up and run for a few days to check.
Has anyone else had this problem ? I presume the only fix is a new EGR unit....is it just a messy problem, or does a faulty egr have an effect on performance / fuel efficiency also ?
Any recommendations ?
