Electric Seats

Just bought a half leather interior for the Toledo (2004 S TDi 110bhp) and the front seats are electric.
Does anyone know if the loom is there to plug the seats in, or would it be handier to swap over runners etc from my existing interior?

Cheers

Some cars do seem to be equipped with the necessary wiring, just have a look under your seats to see if it's there. Even if you haven't, it's easier to run a power feed to the seats than it is to try and swap the mechanics. The electrics cover every part of the seat, you'd probably end up retaining all of your own seats and just swapping the covers!!

If the loom isn't there, go for the power feed, it's a fairly easy job and you get all the electric goodies. Apart from the memory settings though, that's more of a job to get working.

Don't think there are any memory settings, just 2 buttons on seats to move backrest and the seat back and forward.

Where is the memory for the seats? Inside the ECU? or inside the seats themselves?

There are a series of controls on the drivers side base unit, on the right. But the memory is inside the convenience module, which means if you don't have the relevant module you have additional work to get the memory working.

And to be honest, I have used it about half a dozen times as a 'new gadget', and that's it.

I'm thinking of putting the seats in my other halfs goof, she's 5' 2", I'm 5' 11", currently she slides the seat back, if she forgets my knees are against the dash.

I have the complete car so I have the conv mod too:D

The tolly is dead, long live the octy turbot:D

Iv got them in my V5 but I never use memory function. How long does it take to move the seat? A few secs! Really is not worth the hassle for the memory function. Iirc the memory is also tied into the mirrors too!
Just run a power feed tied into the ignition if you can

I'm in no rush TBH, the shell will be around for a few months while I decide what to do.
