I'm going to be tackling an engine rebuild on a BAM 1.8T in the not to distant future as part of a BT upgrade, going to be stripping everything down removing pistons, replacing rods etc etc.

My question is, I need to get quite a lot of important information regarding various things, torque settings, gapping, piston ring spacing etc. Does ELSAWIN give you everything needed information wise to do this?

I'm tackiling the job with a mechanic who has been doing this most of his life but want to make sure i've got all the relevant info before I start.

Thanks :)

Some fastners will be supplied with parts like rod bolts with rods, probably ARP ones, will more than likely state the torque requirement due to them not being OE

My use of Elsawin has been limited to brake and suspension components, but everything is definitely there.

I'd agree with the other comments though, I wouldn't expect uprated bolts and other parts to use the OEM settings. Use them as a backup, but try and get the proper values from the manufacturer as they will know what they're made of.
