Hey
After ordering my new FR and noticing that it comes with a tyre repair kit rather than even a space saver wheel (something to do with the battery in the boot maybe?) i have been wondering whats included with these kits, most importantly a pump to inflate any repaired tyre?

Think its something to do with the size of the 2.0 diesel unit. batteries been shoved in the boot.Stranding by to be corrected by any current FR owners though

I have a spare wheel ... but I have removed it and have two tins of quick fix in place. No point carrying extra weight in this time of austerity ;) Should improve my mpg ;)

The stuff I have I salvaged from my previous clio sports ... seems to be like an expanding foam compound ... I used it once before ... got to the garage and as I remember were able to wash it out then do the repair. I guess there must be different types of quick fix on the market.

Only problem I have found with removing spare tyre and jack etc is obviously it leaves an area unsupported under the boot lining. Therefore, when you put items into the boot, it sinks into hole where the tyre should be. Easy enough problem to rectify I should think.

My ST has a spare wheel and the polystyrene moulding that holds the jack sits inside it and supports the boot (estate) floor. The polystyrene is quite small compared to the size of the spare wheel well and if I carried something really heavy I think it might squash the polystyrene.

If I took the spare wheel out I would have to put something in its place to support the floor - a bigger block of polystyrene perhaps.
