Hi all,

Just drove back to London from Brum, no issues at any point. Then got quite close, slowed down due to speed restrictions, put foot on gas again (while in 6th gear) and the car started to shake/flutter, which could be felt physically??

Any ideas?

Oh, the engine light started to flash and turns off when not accelerating?

Not sure what it is and never had this in the 7 years I,ve owned it.

Help!!

Thanks
Sant

If it's a petrol cupra then one of your coilpacks is on it's way out. If it's a tdi i don't know i'm afraid, lol

Hi, it's not a tdi.......better check my profile!!! It's a petrol Leon Cupra.

This will either be a coil pack, causing the car to run very rich and firing on 3 cylinders, or an air leak in the breather system - check the rubber hoses attached to the turbo intake pipe connected to the air box.

Hi, are there any guides about on how to check and change coil pack and check rubber hoses? Sorry, I have had hardly any reason to mess about with this!

Thanks

Hi, anyone know how to tell which pack has failed? I had a copy of Vag.com with the cable, can I use this to work that out (if I can find the software).

Any help would be great!

if you have vcds then it may have popped a code advising which cyl it think it is..
if all 4 look the same age, expect the others to fail soon also.. and best advise I can give is replace all 4 with same age/new/make coil packs

Thanks, will keep that in mind. Will probably get a spare and keep it I think. Thanks for comments all!!
