Engine Mounts

Just wondering how hard/easy the engine mounts are to replace?

I know the front & gearbox mounts will be the easiest to change, do they remove easily or are they a pain?

Feels like my engines ever increasingly getting "looser", particularly when lifting off whilst on boost, you can feel it shudder.

Im planning to replace all three mounts next month.
I plan to get one vibratechnics mount and the two others genuine Seat.
This is down to budget, I would like all three vibratechnics, but the budget wont allow.
Where would be best for the vibratecnics mount? Im guessing the front mount.

Thanks!

I found them not to difficult to fit when doing my VT ones from Bill. Changed them one at the time using a garage jack if I remember correctly.

Are you getting yours soon? I may go for the stage 1 mounts.

hopefully within the next month all depends on a friend as he is getting a pallet of stuff sent from a friend in the states. so im going to order them get them sent to the friend in the states then he can put them in the pallet then no custom charges ;)

think the .5 are ok they say stage 1 causes little vibration over standard and stage 2 is best suited for drag cars as they are almost like solid mounts. thats why im going for 0.5

I have the BFI 0.5 stage engine mounts fitted to my cupra, they are fine bit of vibration when you first start the car and its on choke and cold, once warmed up fine, also you do get more vibrations when the weather is really cold lol, due to the material they are made from. The gearbox mount is a stock VW MK3 Vr6 mount. Good improvement over the cheese stock mounts. Vibratechnics will be better but cost alot more. :)

Just after a quick bit of help.

Just started on the front engine mount, so far I have removed the bottom allen bolt & the upper 16mm bolt and removed the bottom rubber bushing.
I have used a jack to support the weight of the engine.

Just need a pointer as to where to go next.
The shaft that the bottom allen bolt screws into looks like it needs to go upwards? Do I need to lift the engine more to do this?

Thanks!

All you need to do now is lift the engine enough to get the top part out then replace.

Thanks mate, got it sorted in the end, just wasnt jacking the engine up high enough.
Was just abit wary before as the axle stands started creaking abit. A mate of mine came round and told me to stop being a pansy lol.

Its made a big difference in my opinion, even with just replacing the topmount. Feels like the engine has stopped jumping around, not noticed any noise / vibration increase in the cabin either.

The old one didnt look too bad when it came out, but was obviously spongy compared to the vibratechnics mount. May go for the gearbox mount in the future, but for now im happy.
