Thought I'd post this up just in case other people might be experiencing the same problem since a bulletin has been released about it by Seat.
A while back I started to get this weird 'ook' (or moo..) type noise coming from the engine whenever the car's been in a lot of traffic (ie stop/start traffic - think London in rush hour!).
It was intermittent because once you got going and at speed, it disappeared.....
The noise was most noticeable when you blip the accelerator to bring the revs just over 1k, and also when you were changing gears either from 1st to 2nd or 2nd down to 1st (basically when you take your foot off the accelerator and the revs drop when engaging the clutch).
Anyways, took it round to the local dealer and they originally narrowed the noise down to a recirculation valve at the back of the engine which seemed to rumble when the noise appeared:

However, after changing that it didn't solve the problem.
Finally took it back to the dealer last week and it seems a bulletin was just released about the problem (i've been told the bulletin even has an attached sound clip!).
They ended up replacing the turbo valve pipe.
Was told by the mechanic that although the pipe was replace, there might be a faint noise, but since then I've not had the noise problem.
BTW, bulletin no. i've got written down is TPL 2 2014935/1TO
Part no replaced. 03G131055AR
Hope this helps anyone else having the same problem!![]()
What's the service bulletin ref?

I took my Leon to W. Livingstones in Uddingston.
The Foreman came out for a test drive in my car and said the owl noise was completely normal, and alot of cars had it.
He said seat would do nothing for me, unless it had broke down or there was a loss of power.
Problem is my car is out of warranty with it being a 55 plate. The garage i bought it from gave me a 3 month warranty, and seen as they are down in england, they allow me to use a garage up here to fix the problems.
The noise is doing my head in! Slow driving around town is the most noticeable, or when changing down gears preparing for a roundabout.
Surely the seat garage were bullshitting me? Is there anything i can say about it?
I Take mine to rutherfords of earlston its a small family run Seat Dealership in the borders - probably a couple of hour drive for yourself but they fixed mine using the bullitin in this thread no problem at all. Call and speak to Brian the service manager very very hellpful. I wouldnt take my car anywhere else. Im sure ive got his email address somewhere - PM me if you want it!
I took my car to the garage this morning and one of the mechanics came with me on a drive. He said the noise is noticible but said that all turbo cars did that! Ugh!!!! I told them about the Seat Bullitins but they asked if I could leave my car overnight and that they can check in the morning. So here we go again.....
