sounds ok when driving but when i leave the engine running sounds just like a diesel. its a cupra 07 reg with 27k on. anyone else's like this?

just checked oil, full to the top and a nice colour. opened the bonnet and seems like the top of the engine towards the right sounds very badly ticky and diesel like! would could it be?

I am sure all TFSI engines sound like this something to do with high pressure pump and injector tick. Some people don't realy notice it and others think its a problem depends what your used too I guess.

They all sound diesel like. Its the way tsi's/tfsi's inject the fuel.

not the tfsi just the boxster engine! lol it made me feel good

I thought it looked different to my TFSI which I wrenched the engine cover off for the first time today, just to see where the Air Filter actually was and to check my Fuel Pump follower and Camshaft which both looked fine after 8K miles :D

There is a very big difference between valve clearance ticking, injector ticking, pinking and the sound of a diesel engine.

How on earth does a petrol engine with a tick get reported as (sounds like a diesel)

its just because the 2.0TFSI doesnt sound nice like other engines. Infact it sounds like a engine that isnt capable of much lol.
