how easy was it to swap

When swapped my engine out of my vario to a 2.0 16v it was a doddle.

1st engine was out in just over an hour, new engine was in within 3hrs from starting, wired in by the end of the day

Just a shame I forgot the immo box!

I still wouldn't build what you can buy

quite easy me and a mate of mine did it in aroun 23hrs and thats stripping 1 car to bear shell (the doner car) and swapping the engine loom fuel tank rear axel brake line abs and exhaust etc
 
Induction, Exhaust, Gas flowed head, Port and Polish, Pistons, Supercharger...... how deep is your wallet?

well i can do most of the work myself or get helf from work mates as i work in the motor trade i fort of supercharging it but not sure what charger to use as i dont know anyone who has done it

Usually when people supercharge there 8v they usually us an Eaton M45 (right number?) charger. Usually found on a Mini Cooper S.

What supercharger could I use on a 1.4? :whistle:

Pretty much anything if you strengthen the internals enough, best thing is to start with one that you can up the settings until you having running issues that you can then overcome or turn the boost down again. You'd also need an aftermarket ECU and someone with real tuning knowledge to set that up.

I've seen a G40 that's been pushing 180bhp, that's from a 1980's 1.3!!

But as Craig said an Eaton's probably the right place to start.
