got a error code 17608
I take it is the n249 valve it can't be the dv as ive just upgraded to a forge 008
Do I need to replace the valve?
Where is it
Can I get a secondhand one?

On the other hand, if you've just made a change and now there is an error code, then it is more likely to be the thing you changed... Can you put the old one back on and see if the error code still comes up? It's always possible that you have a faulty valve from Forge, not likely I know but...

So that rules out the dv I guess! As I kept wiping the code it just returns after a short while

That kit is just a 330 Ohm 10 Watt resistor with some wire soldered on and heatshrink over the solder joints. It would be used to replace a solenoid valve, if you remove it completely. N249 (DV), N112 (SAI) and N75 (turbo wastegate) are all solenoid valves. The ECU will detect that they are missing and throw up the engine warning light. Its easier to leave the solenoid valves in place and remove the vacuum/pressure pipes.

The N249 can be removed with little consequence, the DV still functions by reacting to pressure difference across the throttle plate.

N112 controls the SAI valve, which is known to fail, and is often replaced with a solid plate. SAI is only active during cold starts as part of the emission control.

N75 is the turbo wastegate controller, and stops the turbo overspeeding. I'd never remove this.

So, you don't need these kits unless you want to remove the solenoid valves completely for a tidier appearance. Will require some soldering skill as you need to solder connectors to the bare wire ends to connect the resistor to the bare plug.

Checking hoses can't hurt, and may show up what's causing the issue.

It is a component you would use in the course of N249 *removal*. N249 bypass is performed (as described in the threads that you have already seen) by removal of vacuum tubing and adding a new tube to bypass the N249 valve.

I never used any resistors on my 249 delete
I left the valve plugged in so doesn't throw EML
Then just ran some silicone pipe from
DV in to T-piece then FPR AND INLET MANIFOLD

All this delete aids in true manifold pressure on the DV so it can operate on its own at the right time without ECU interfering far as I'm aware

never had any problems
