OK, did some trawling a couple of weeks back regarding the ESP in the Cupra. Read all sorts of opinions as to whether it's a waste of time or otherwise, and was unable to decide from the posts whether it's better to have it on or off.

Anyway, I've spent the last week or so driving with it ON and OFF and to be honest don't really feel a huge difference. Maybe I'm driving like a big girls blouse but even with it ON, I very rarely have the light flash at me.

So anyway thought I'd start a poll to see how you all drive - ESP'd or not. :D

After my trial period I've decided it's too much of a pain to keep swithcing it off at start up and the glowing orange light on the dash started to bug me after a while, especially at night. [:@]

Interested to hear what you all think.

Cheers,

Thomo.

I find it a pain in the arse most of the time. I have it flashing in the dry powering away, it just cuts all power before giving it back.

However in the wet it can be alittle helpful with wet drains but on the whole I feel it is a waste on a FWD car. When I have my moddified BMW 328 Sport it didn't have TC only a LSD and in the pouring rain it was quite twitchy so TC or ESP would have been nice.

RWD: Yes
4wd and FWD: No

I never go a day without that little light telling me off by flashing furiously at me !!

Voted 'Mixture depending on road conditions' as like someone has already said, it can be helpful in the wet, but, in the dry, its very annoying when the wheels spin slightly it cuts the power quite a bit, which can be very annoying indeed.

So to sum up, normal conditions its off (or if the light on the dash is annoying me) and for wet/slippy etc... conditions, its usually on.

Mines switched off mostly, if i'm going for a brisk drive! As the TC keeps cutting power when i don't want it to!

As for the ESP you can only switch it off 60% it will still try to sort things out if you get really out of shape! It's just less intrusive!

Hadn't realised that........

Cheers for the responses guys! :coolthumb

Well I paid extra for it and the yellow light annoys me so I leave it on all the time.

Bought it as you never know what's around the next corner, and if it only saves me out once it's paid for itself. I know that it doesn't necessarily come in useful all the time, but if you do find yourself in a dodgy situation then you can't pause and quickly switch it on again to help you out.
