Anybody had a drive or taken delivery of the new 1.5 Evo 130bhp engine in a Leon ? . Almost time to renew my 1.4 150bhp FR and was wondering if the less powerful engine was still a decent drive

It’s meant to be but I think the fuel consumption is better still in the bigger engine

I am taking order of one end of the month , I have been told that it does have ACT, I am coming from a 1.4 150 FR ACT to a 1.5 Evo 130 FR so shouldn’t be too much difference

Just out of curiosity ...may I ask why the 130 evo and not the 150 evo (as you said you are coming from a 150) from what I know the differences in consumption are minimal ...

Well for me I only do around 8000 miles a year. Mainly commuting to work on a congested motorway and around town at the weekend so don't think I would miss the performance though cant believe it would be that much. Plus, its 1,600 pounds cheaper to buy ! Both versions are ACT, the 130 posts slightly better mpg.

For me, I was looking at lease deals and originally it was for the 1.4 125 but that got stopped so I’ve got a 1.5 130 for £175 quid a month which I thought was a no brainer really, coming from a pcp over 300 and wanted to get my monthly’s down as well

Is that through Seat finance or a lease company ? What sort of term/mileage is that for if you don't mind ?

Course not, it was through a main Seat dealer, it’s a 6*35 term with 8,000 miles he was going to do a deal on a 1.4 like I said but then couldn’t , then I saw a deal on nationwidevehicle leases I think it’s called and asked if he could match, he said yes and the rest is history as they say!! Haha

I've just had a 1.5 150 delivered so cannot comment on the 130 but this car (bare in mind it's my 1st brand spanker) is a dream drive.

I’m coming at this from a slightly different angle, I’m trying to choose between the 130 and 150 with both new as staff benefit type deals (weird mashup of lease and company car)

So far as I can see the consumption looks more or less identical, there’s about 10mph and a big chunk of torque in it, and about 1.3 sec to 60...

It's the difference in torque that you'll notice most in daily use, the 0-60 and top speed are irrelevant unless you regularly drive like a d*ck.

If it's a benefit then check the tax implications, it can more expense than you think - enough to make a personal lease cheaper sometimes.

Thanks for that. Will have a look through a few lease sites before heading to my dealer and seeing what deal they can do for me. On my second PCP with a Leon but im never going to keep the car after 3years so a lease makes better sense financially

Yeah I mean what I have at the moment is my third pcp, on the previous 2 (citigo and Fiesta) I kept them for about 1.5 years, only this I have “kept” for almost 3 years, again I’m not going to keep it, (don’t have the money and get bored) so leasing makes more sense really !!
