Exeo rear wiper motor

Hi Folks, just new to the Forum having purchased a 59 plate Exeo ST143 in August last year.
No complaints about the car so far, however today it developed a fault with the rear wiper motor which is on constantly now as soon as the car is started. Removed the wiper arm as a stop gap measure. I have been informed that the problem is caused by water ingress into the motor and will need replacing. Has anyone else had this issue and does anyone know if this is a Seat specific part or will any other rear wiper motors be compatible.

Its a common fault across a lot of the VAG brands with that wiper motor. Same thing happened on my B8 model Audi A4 Avant.

The wiper motor as far as im aware is shared amongst the group. About £75 or there abouts if i remember right.

Still not found an alternative in the VAG range. The only rear wiper motor I have found up till now is for the Exeo. It's on Fleabay for 157 quid though and I'm too cheap for that money.

Ripped mine out now - Valeo Motor with VAG Part Number 3R9955711 - Now I know that EXEO is 3R, so the rest must be the part.

Audi have 8E 9955711 A/B/C/.../F/G fitted to multiple vehicles 8E is the A4 B6/B7 2000 to 2008 chassis.

My wife's Leon Mk2 has 5P 0955711 B fitted and it transplanted fine, although I couldn't confirm if the spindle is the same length as I had to grind the old one of due to a seized wiper arm, but it worked.

SEAT in Preston quoted £124 for a motor (Exeo).

This may open up some further options. I'm going to try and "borrow" a 8E 9955711 G to measure.

I found myself in a similar position, needing to replace the motor.

Bought an A4 motor, only to find the fixing points are different.

So I swapped the innards with the Exeo one, now have a working motor with the washer jet that sweeps round with the wiper. Fitted an A4 washer nozzle and Q5 wiper arm from eBay to finish it off.

Just bought a 2007 Seat Leon wiper motor off Fleabay. Will let you know how I get on with it.

Pretty sure the innards are all the same (my 2001 polo looks identical) just the mounting points that differ.

I can confirm that the Mk2 2005-2010 Leon motor fits - 5P0955711 A/B/C/D fits perfectly. Valeo 579744

Got the Seat Leon rear wiper motor today. Mounting points are identical to the Exeo, however the gearing inside the unit is different and has a bigger sweep area. I swapped all the internal gearing and motor from the Exeo unit into the Leon unit and re-fitted. Hey Presto works fine.
