Exhaust/heat shield rattle?

Hi everybody..
I recently brought a Seat Ibiza Cupra GTI 16v sport (the longest vehicle name ever perhaps?) which has started to develop some exhaust rattles when starting, and under acceleration. I know these cars are prone to developing these sounds and rattles but I just wanted to ask what exactly is it? Is it a loose Heat shield or just some exhaust mount come off?
It's a fab car, it's just those painful rattles - they're driving me crazyy!

usually just the heatshield if its from around that area... you can bang a couple of short self tappers into it and screw it back to the body if its deteriorated around the original mounting points

Would that actually work, or am I having a retarded moment? That's not a half bad idea actually lol! Cheaper than a new set of heat shields from what I've seen on VagCat!

Alright fair play,, thanks guys.. the beast has got it's M.O.T tomorrow, just wanna make sure she can sale through it unscathed by the rip-off merchants that are most M.O.T testers -_-
Apart from that rattle.. and a low rear tyre, everything SEEMs to be all good!

It's a good thing that I've changed BOTH prior to my MOT then! ... I bet I'll fail on emissions or something now having said that lol!

Mwhahahaa, Just failed on one tire and wipers. I'll ask if they could sort out the rattle, although its not a real issue.. just a pain in the ass!

The easiest solution for the CAT heat shield rattle is to yank the bloody thing off as i did on both my GTi's
LMAO.
It miraculously works ;P

Thats what I done on my 1.4 when it dropped and was sitting on the CAT.
