Exhaust temperature sensor. Help needed

Hi had the EML come on more or less straight away after having dpf cut open and emptied. Got it on diagnostics and got the code P145D saying ' exhaust temperature sensor 3 short on power'

The EML will go off for a week or so then come back on for 2 weeks but now it seems to be on more than not.

Has anybody else had this problem before and could it be that the guy who did the dpf work has knocked the sensor or not re-connected it proper if he has had it off? The tuner wasn't local to me so bit reluctant to travel 2 hours if it could be so simple.

Not sure if the sensor is in use now the dpf has been emptied? Could it be deleted on software etc??

Also does anybody know where this sensor is located? Looking to sell car soon so need EML to be cleared.

Thanks in advance

Mike

Hey thanks for the reply
The guy who did it said he doesn't delete the sensors as the dpf is still there just emptied the filter inside. Should this still be deleted? Do you know the location of the sensor in question? Thanks mike

that doesnt sound right to me?
when i have them done i remove the dpf internals and then have everthing mapped out so it doesnt think anything is there
as i said the sensor 3 should be the one after the dpf itself
you can check by unplugging it if you have a code reader

Thanks again for your reply, sounds like he hasn't done it right then, Is it possible to delete the sensors without altering/replacing existing map?

I had a problem with this sensor. I think it's the same one, it's located top of the engine on the left hand side. I paid £40 from SEAT new sensor installed it, had my dad plug the car in and reconfigure the DPF.

Thanks for the reply. Don't suppose you have a part number for the sensor? Thanks mike

I have forgot the part number.

If you phone SEAT spares parts and ask for price on a exhaust temperature sensor they should give you a price and part number then see if you can find it anywhere cheaper.
