what size pipe have you got on your exhaust shazo? im getting a 2.5"striaght through, i asked for a 3" pipe but the guy said 2.5" will be more than enough and with 3"there wouldn't be any difference

im not too sure, but i think its a 2.5" pipe from looking at it, he made it so at a later date i can put the cat and back box back on if i wanted.

With it being a straight through system.Is there not stupid amounts of smoke coming out of the back?
I had this problem with just having a remap on mine and it turned out to be the fuel i was using.
But with no cat or silencers surely my problem will come back.

ummm from my experiance i noticed if the cars in a high gear and at really low revvs and you give it a boot full, then you will get black smoke, otherwise its normal. obviously when booting it you get a little black smoke but thats commen with all diesels.

also what do you mean by it turned out to be the fuel you was using?

I retained my sports cat for that reason. From what i have been lead to believe, the cat catches most of the black soot so stops it coming straight out of the exhaust everytime you put your foot down.

I was using shell V Power diesel fuel it was good but constant black smoke all the way up the revs in every gear. It was that bad u couldn't see anything out of the rear window. So i was adv to try BP fuel and that is great. It only smoke's when u initially put your foot down but doesn't smoke after that even when you change gear.
But BP Ultimate fuel is awesome you notice the power difference but it's £1.32 a litre rather that £1.10 for normal BP fuel. Well where i live it ia anyway.

il give BP a try then, ino asda petrol seems to give me better mpg then tesco, and i esso petrol is better then asda... i think...
the black smoke thing is abit anoying though

Tell me about it my car was always looking dirty at the back. The rest of the car was clean but the back was always black after a week. It doesn't help matters that my car is yellow either. ha ha. Also to try stopping the black smoke change your fuel filter and every thew months use the Redex diesel fuel cleaner it also makes a difference. Cause i use to use that with the shell fuel and it didn/t smoke when that was mixed in with the diesel.
