Pick Cupra up Wednesday. no 280 badge but does have underseat storage. Badge to follow free of charge. This seems to be a common problem with SEAT as in the past other models have arrived with special badges missing.

Must remember to ask for the badge. Knowing me I will forget in excitement of picking the car up.

Where is this under seat storage then? Under front passenger seat is it? Not seen mention of this before.

Where's the pics?

storage under front seats. my dealer has already contacted SEAT UK about the badges and once they arrive will fit them free of charge.

If mine comes sans badge I won't bother having it fitted. If it was a single badge then I'd reconsider, but that little gap between the 2 parts will just be a dirt trap.

Detailing brush, sorted. I still find it odd that all the press release cars had the 280 badge but none of the customer cars do.

I don't do detailing. The only time that would get done is if I had the car professionally valeted!

I like your style ;-)

I'm probably too far gone though now, I get a perverse pleasure keeping the cars and bikes looking nice. There's no doubt I could pay somebody else to do a better job, but I enjoy doing it myself. Wife says I'm ocd, but I see it as therapy. Thinking of getting this one done professionally and keeping on top of it myself from there. Undecided at the moment.

I've not washed my current car since I ordered the Leon. Has a massive purple bird dung dried onto the rear passenger door at the moment!

Cool pics mate and thanks for the info.
Good luck on handover on wednesday.
Looking forward to seeing more pics on your car, are you having the guard x coating on it?

Yes. I got it included in the price at a knock down price, along with wheel insurance.

Not interested in the paint protection as I wouldn't trust a dealer not to make a balls of it, but tell me more about the wheel insurance. What sort of cover / cost? That sounds like it could be worthwhile, especially as the Mrs will be driving it and she has history in this department.

I have a BMW as well as a LEON. I was given Tyre Insurance (up to 5 replacement tyres in 3 years). I'd never have bought it. Unlike the past 40 years when I cannot ever remember having a flat. I have had 2 in 2 years. These are on the infamous BMW runflats for which you pay a premium.
For me it was a great deal but like all insurance you weigh up the costs and benefits. You hope you will use your investment they hope you won't. If it's free then it's a no-brainer.
Suggest you work out how many flats you've had in the last 5 years and go rom there.

BTW approval has to be sought with photo evidence from BMW UK to avoid fraudulent claims. I am told after the first 3 it gets harder to convince them you don't walk around with a bag o' nails and a hammer.

I'm not 100% sure, but boltonredgt post implies wheel insurance (not tyres). Not interested in tyre insurance, but would be for the alloys as the cupra has (outrageously expensive) 19" machine cut alloys. Kerb them and it's going to get expensive as they are not easy to refurb.

Yes it's tyre and wheel insurance that covers accidental damage to tyres and wheels up to 10 times for diamond cut wheels, normal alloys are cheaper to insure, usual price £449 for three years. As I know at some stage the wheels will get damaged as proven on our 500 due to pot holes so I can yet the whole set done every 18 months with 2 times to spare.
As for the paint and interior guard, yes normally I would not go for this but I was shown an example of the work and it is the actual salesman I am dealing with who does the work.

So, will that cover replacement wheels? From what I have been reading machine cut wheels can only be resurfaced once or twice and even then they won't look the same as originals. The wheels are circa £500 a pop.

Is your dealer throwing this cover in for free? Looking on line it would seem some insurers throw it in with Gap (which I have no intention of taking).

No the cover is for kerbing damage. Usually I find anything that comes free is of poor quality. Half price.

And there's the rub. They're not easy to repair and I would think you would have to get them done 4 at a time to have them all looking the same. Really wish the 280 came with normal alloys as I don't even like the look of them to be honest.

I feel that. The silver 18s on the 265 look nicer to my eyes and I'd have downgraded if it had been possible. If one gets dinged on my car that's what colour they'll be ending up, sod that diamond cutting nonsense!
