dam my fingers.

that was meant you read would be tempted lol

Looks like an ok bit of kit tho, nice tidy pipe, only thing i would watch is where the filter sits on the car, thinking about water/rain problems.

You will have to do something with the breather pipe too. Either a filter and catch can or route it into the piping from the induction kit.

I've heard the BMC CDA kits are supposed to be the best. This would sit along the back of the engine bay and then route the air feed down the side of the battery and to the bumper.

Very tempted myself but dont think i can justify it over just getting a green cotton panel filter for the box. Will prob try this and smooth out the box and see what the results are like. A lot less hassle as far as i can see.

yes you are right, however the title reads, experiences with a K&N Typhoon induction kit?
that was mine. also on the st the filter is sat at the hight of the side skirts and sits just behind the front wheel, so it sits very low. all i can say from what i gain from it is, DONT FIX THE AIR FILTER TO A STRAW !!!!

No i appreciate it really! :) i will take that to consideration iv just been looking at the filter wraps: http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RC-9350DK

i dont think the leon typhoon kits that low, it shud be just behind the battery, doesnt go down as far as i know.

haha what do u mean by the straw??? lol

good call by tubby two on the water caution. I put on a rubber weather strip to seal off the hood gap to prevent any rain hitting the filter. Rains fairly heavy in Sweden sometimes....

Nice idea, but surely that resitricts how much air is getting near the filter?

no no, the rubber on top of the heatshield is to prevent heat soak from engine, and rubberstrip (not on this pic) under hood is to prevent rain. Not an airtight box so there is plenty airflow to the filter. Cold air comes from the front and around the battery.

Maybe its just from that picture, but it looks like a decent panel filter with some sort of cold air feed would get much more cool air

Looks impressive anyway! ;)

Sure, if you can find a panel filter with the same surface area as my cone filter ;)

In the beginning I stopped after racing in the summertime to feel the temp on the cone and it was as cold as ambition temperature. No heatsoak at all.

Im happy and I know it
