Extended Warranty - worth it?

My Leon will be 3 years old at the end of this month, been offered a genuine Seat extended warranty, choices are:

All component cover, zero excess for £226
Names component cover, zero excess for £219

I appreciated could be worth it should anything fail, but car has been reliable to date and has only done 20k miles.

Thoughts?..

My leons in the final year of the 3 year warranty, bought used from seat dealer.
Hopefully get offered the same once it's up.
Already had lights and wipers changed in warranty and will have door rattles and a few other things sorted when it's in, in a couple of weeks.
For £226 i'd be taking it up as you know sods law, nowt happens for 3 years and soon as it runs out, stuff starts going wrong

Sounds cheap to me considering the potential costs of even simple repairs.

Just a single LED headlight is silly money to replace. ( IIRC somewhere around £600 )

firstly make sure you go over the car thoroughly before the 3 years.

then potentially yes id say thats good value. - as with all cover though its how good they are when it comes to a claim.
I paid £150 for the 3rd year warranty on my lmk1 eon cupra, (although some time ago) and they would not pay out on ANYTHING. not even the maf which not only didnt work but was the wrong one fitted!

coming from the other side seats extended warranty is pretty good most after market warranty pay out silly amounts per hour that most reputable places wont even touch them and the cover is pretty decent obv dont expect them to pay out on a clutch tyres etc and you shouldn't be in for any surprises.

when its costs £770 to replace a mercedes wing mirror you can see why its so expensive.
i would be driving a merc now if it wasnt for the rediculous parts pricing - and terrible dealers.

VAG retail warranties are provided by Mondial Assistance. They have a list of exclusions as long as your arm, major mechanical components are covered though. You should be able to view the policy terms and conditions before you buy and compare to other after-market warranties.

We had the Mondial Assistance warranty on our Golf Mk5 for years four and five. During this time the only things that went wrong were the door lock solenoids and they are not covered by Mondial Assistance.

The factory extended warranties are more comprehensive and cheaper than the retail warranties but you have to order them when the car is ordered and the dealer has to activate the warranty before the car is first registered. We ordered the 5 year warranty for our Leon but the dealer failed to activate it before the car was registered.
