Fail MOT?

Ive just noticed the gaiter on my steering rack has split and ive got my MOT coming up... would it fail on this?

Has anyone ever replaced one of these before on a mk3?

I think it should do. but you should change it asap unless you want to wear the rack out quick

cool, i dont know how long it's been like that but ill get around to fitting a new one tuesday... would i need to replace it with a new nut thing what ever it's called?

i got an idea how to do it but is there a guide anyone knows of?

remove rod end, and undo the clips & then the gaiter.

removing the rod end will be the hard bit!
