My lcr failed its mot emisions test the other day,so on reading a few posts on here i decided to put some expensive fuel and red x injector cleaner in it,and then i drove it like i had stolen it,for about 50 miles(what a laugh!!).Anyway,i turned up for a re-test hoping for a pass, but no such luck. The co and lamda readings were high at tickover and the fast idle test.My car is running a stage 1 remap, and a cat back piper system,so im thinking of putting a new lamda sensor on it.Any other ideas would be greatly recieved!!!!

which aspects of the emissions failed?
do you have a print out of the actual readings and which stage of the test it failed on?

lambda > 1.0020 etc type thing? (example)

Hi,lamda was 0.970 ish and co was 1.8 ish on fast idle, with the cat red hot.At tickover it was worse!,lamda 0.930 and co 2.2.On the fast idle you could see the lamda working, but obviously not enough. Its still on the standard cat,and the cars only done 25k miles.:censored:

hmmmm. was expecting you to say to high (ie >1.000) not lower (richer)
wondering what your ecu/lambda thinks its lambda is..
i would try and get this logged in same conditions as it will be trying to hold lambda of 1.0 on block 032 at the test

Had exactly the same symptoms with my car, in the end it went back to Will at Performance torque for a diag and custom map. Turns out the high flow down pipe that Piper are using removes so much back pressure that it is confusing the ecu. Wish i had gone back to him sooner as i wasted a load of money on sensors. If you do need a new Lambda, i have a front one sat in the garage which was only on the car for 5 mins.

Turns out that Piper have sent a few cars to him to sort out after having their system fitted. Look him up he is a forum sponsor

I had the same problem after fitting my piper full system, getting a CEL every week or so.
See my post (no 33) with a way to fix.
