have they abloshied the free retest within a certain period then?

surely they cant get away with that as they wont have to do a full test again, only test the repaired part

When mine failed due to me stretching the life of the tyres too far and a broken exhaust bracket they retested mine for free.

as they all say just a cheap fix its normally due to the car bein lowered an on bigger wheels just makes thm strain abit more thn they should same as track rod ends go (the rubber perishes) quite commonly on lowered bigger wheel'd cars

with the new regulations they have to do a full retest if the vehicle leaves teh premises

the main problem is that they now have to login to do the actual test and even if they only have a few small items to check the machine as such is tied up for a minimum period so hence they charge for that time period

good news is that because of all the hassle involved with the mot test in general now you see a lot more - minor faults - let through than previously

as per usual the system designed to tighten up on procedures actually causes so much hassles it in turn has a detriemnt effect on the test it was designed for

i get my whole MOT done for free (favours in the trade) and he would probably fix it before he tested it anyways ;)
