Hi all,
Whenever the sun catches my windscreen, all I see is thousands of little specs reflecting the sun - it looks like someone has covered the screen in glitter. The car is a 2004 Leon Cupra TDI, and has done ~58,000 miles.

To the naked eye, the screen looks clean enough, so i'm wondering if these are just lots of tiny stonechips or something? Is it possible to polish them out, or do I need to be looking at a new screen?

Cheers,
Matt

was jst thinking about posting that after reading the first post lol. always unhappy with amount of crap on my screen, then claued the car for 1st time last week end inc. screen and got everything off.

Good stuff - I'll try and some Clay from somewhere today then. Got some nice Aero style wipers to go on, so seems like a good opportunity.

I use AG Window polish, works a treat for me, never need to put the window wipers on, the water just glides off.

i always use that when i was the car, but it couldn't get rid of the heavy duty stuuf on the windscreen. clays the best for that.

yu'll get some from halfords or somewhere like that... meguires quick clay

Not from my Halfords :S They were selling some kit for £25, but i only wanted the clay. Got it for £11 from a local shop in the end. Just need the weather to hold off long enough for me to use it!!

Gold Class Trim Detailer

(where abouts should i use clay? how long would the clay itsself last?)

Try using toothpaste or polishing compound to remove road film and then treat with rain-x.

It is always possible that there are lots of little stone chips - my Dad's old beemer was absolutely covered in them so much that it was hard to drive in low sun as you couldn't see out proibably.
