Fan / blower not working - Altea 55 Ref Sport 1.9TDI

Just recently, my fan setting on 1 to 3 stopped working. 4 works OK. Would appreciate any help or pointers in how to get it to work properly.

My car is not climatronic - it uses dials. I do have air con which works OK but only on level 4. Don't appreciate the force 10 gale first thing on a cold morning!

Your heater resistor is buggered sue, new ones are about £20 and are not a dear job to fit on an altea.

Its a really simple job to do to be honest, if you remove the cover under the glove box (2 plastic screws and 3 t20 torx) and unplug the resistor (it has 4 wires goin to it) pull it out and replace - then rebuild in the reverse order. As simple as that!

Some alteas were made without the cover so its even easier, but make sure you fit a self-tapping screw into the resistors edge when re-fitting it as some are known to have fallen out and they get extremely hot!
