Hi Guys

So last night i got rid of the mk4 golf and picked up a mk4 ibiza.

Its an 02 plate pre facelift 1.2 12v

Ive got a couple little niggling problems with it that to be honest, if i had the time i could more than likely find the cause to, but i dont, so im turning to you guys for help.

1. When driving with my lights on, my dash lights flicker, not the warning lights or anything like that, the actual backlighting of the whole dash area, the red lights.

2. My passenger side electric window doesnt work (its a 3 door) at all, the switch on the passenger door isnt lit up at all, and the switch for the passengers window on the drivers door, doesnt do anything either.

3. This is the main problem, the one which is already doing my nut in and I have had it one day lol, the heaters!! (it has aircon) the heaters blow out air at whatever temperature they want lol, sometimes they are blowing out freezing air, regardless of aircon being on or off, if i turn the aircon on it makes no difference, if i turn the heat all the way up it makes no difference, and other times its the opposite way, it blows out boiling hot air, regardless if i turn the temperature all the way down, or turn the aircon on, and also ive noticed it will be blowing out air at full speed, even when the blowers are turned off at the switch. When the air blows out cold, it also emits a funny smell.

Any other problems i find, i will let you know.

The first two problems are probably likely a bad wiring or corroded fault tbh so if you dont mind taking bits of trim of the car, then you can inspect the wires and wire ends for any signs of corrosion. Taking the door trim off is quite easy and there is a guide on here for removing instrument cluster.

The last fault, hmm... Is it one of those climate computer units with a lcd screen or just the dials and AC button?

If you take out the radio and glove compartment, then you can see the back of the dial unit to check for broken wires or corrosion around the plug. It could be handy to use a torch.
