Well after a lot hard work and money I finally have a 300hp TDI.

As some know my previous set up with stock engine was around 265hp (done 13.9 @ 102mph).

With a big valve ported head, cam and some clever mapping I hit 304hp and 530NM. The poor R783's were pushed hard to make this power, but my plan is to upgrade these :)

Obviously the smoke level was not great, but this hopefully will improve with bigger nozzles or modified PDE's.

Note I was trying different maps so thats why I have three different runs:

I have footage but needs editing.

Does this make me first to hit 300hp in the UK (TDI)? ;)

BIG THANKS GOES OUT TO....well you know who you are :)

Cheers

Bobby

Power is very progressive so doesnt break any necks etc also helps with traction.
I'll post up a video tomorrow :)

At the moment there is everything on "hold".

We had a car crash in middle november 2010 so that we had to delay the Mercedes built to about april/may this year....

Alex hope the accident wasnt too bad and no one got hurt.
I will keep the golf for this year but would like to change it next year - fancy something bigger.

DPJ - it sure pulls to red line very quickly

Cheers

Well, we´ve been at home from work one month to heal our injures, but we are fine again in the meanwhile. (Besides of the fact that we have lost our Seat Leon in the crash  )

Now we have troubles with the guy who caused the accident (He took us the right of way) but to his insurance he said that we caused the crash, so its gooing to end up in a court which delays the payment of the insurance....and waiting for almost 16.000€ is not fun....

But anyway, thats life.

Do have a specific car in mind for your next project?

Regards, Alex

epts2008 - bolting a turbo on these engine is not the hard part - getting enough fuel in is the issue (diesel). Got any links for the 368hp TDI?

Alex - Im sad to hear this hope everything gets sorted asap. Im thinking of a audi or bmw 535d - but i want a lot of things lol

Thats the most interesting thread i have read for a long time, thanks for posting it bobby. Im not aware of any other 1.9tdis in the uk with over 300bhp and would be interested to hear anything about one.

Its not just the top hp that is impressive its the power curve, its so smooth and progressive. Congratulations for all your hard work and achivements.

Am i right in thinking bigger injectors mean less smoke?

Are you planning any other work for the car?

Thank you.

Yes bigger nozzles should mean more flow and less smoke.
I have the bigger nozzles now and will be getting them fitted over the next few weeks.

You never know might be able to get afew more ponies, but the clutch is already slipping..

Cheers
