first gear whine

Hi, when pulling away in first my gearbox is a bit whiny. Is anybody elses the same ? is it normal or should i take it to dealer as only got about 8 months warranty left. car has only done 10k miles so will be a bit surprised if its faulty. thanks for any suggestions.

Welcome. What model is this car? Has it been modified? If it still has warranty, a main dealer would be the best bet assuming all is in order with servicing etc.

thanks mate, its a tfsi fr with no mods (yet). problem is the noise is not severe and just comes in about 10 mph and goes again so not sure if its normal. reckon dealer will tell me I'm paranoid or something, but don't want it getting worse with no warranty. going to have to take it in anyway as has screen delaminating at bottom. thanks again.

Just have them check it. In theory there should be nothing to worry about if its still in warranty

Best to get it logged with them just in case it is anything serious.

think I'll give them a ring next week. see what they say. my local dealer is parkstone southend anyone know if they are ok?
